The Philadelphia Eagles are putting the final touches on their 2026 NFL Draft plan. With that, any reports regarding what they may do will catch the eye of fans. Adam Schefter’s latest news drop involved general manager Howie Roseman.

Adam Schefter believes the Eagles could shake up 2026 NFL Draft

In the NFL insider’s recent intel piece, previewing this year’s draft, he dropped plenty of nuggets of info. The Eagles were heavily involved, including some confirmation that Philly may make a move to create some chaos during the draft.

“League sources say that general manager Howie Roseman is plotting to make a deal on draft weekend. Roseman usually has a trick or two up his sleeve, and other front office executives suspect there’s one coming this week.”

While that deal is not expected to be the A.J. Brown trade, it sounds like the Eagles want to acquire some proven talent and/or move up in the first round. Roseman has never been shy about being aggressive at this time of the year, and this offseason may be no different.

Eagles may trade for veteran pass rusher

Schefter specifically pointed out Minnesota Vikings pass rusher Jonathan Greenard as a potential target for the Eagles. The team was connected to Greenard earlier in the offseason, and the two orgs have been in contact.

Although, the talks haven’t been as active recently. Potentially, the draft could spark up more conversations, depending on how the board begins to fall in different rounds.

“One possibility is adding Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard, whom the Eagles have checked in on at various points this offseason, per sources. Greenard had 12 sacks in 2024, but he managed only three last season over 12 games, despite a solid 23.3% pass rush win rate. The Vikings have been adamant about getting a premium Day 2 pick for Greenard. Philadelphia holds pick Nos. 54, 68 and 98 on Day 2 this year.”

No matter what – it is clear that Roseman is going to try to make his moves. He will not sit on his heels on draft weekend. Instead, we could see the “breaking news” graphic flash across our screens this week, while Eagles fans see their team’s logo pop up for an update.
