Eagles could fleece a desperate NFC North contender in a Landon Dickerson trade, and 2 packages make a ton of sense

The Packers and Vikings both need offensive line help, and Howie Roseman has a familiar blueprint to exploit.

The Philadelphia Eagles are sitting on one of the most valuable trade chips in the NFL right now, and it plays offensive guard. Landon Dickerson trade talk is heating up, and with offensive linemen dropping all over the league, two NFC North teams stand out as perfect landing spots: the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings. I ran both scenarios through A to Z Sports trade simulator and, ladies and gentlemen, Philly comes out ahead in each one.

Dickerson is a three-time Pro Bowler, and contenders need bodies up front. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman knows exactly how to squeeze value out of a moment like this. We just watched him do it with Cam Jurgens.

The Packers package for Landon Dickerson

Here is the first deal. The Eagles send Dickerson and their own 2027 fifth-round pick to Green Bay. In exchange, the Packers send back a 2028 second-round pick and their own 2027 fourth-round pick.

So what does Philadelphia actually get? A future second-rounder, plus a bump from the fifth round up to the fourth in 2027. That jump might not sound like much, but I think it could be pretty powerful. You know how Howie loves these same-draft swaps. He moves around the board, picks up a little extra juice, and loads up for 2028 at the same time.

I think Green Bay is desperate on its offensive line right now. The Packers also think very highly of Dickerson. That combination is exactly the kind of situation Roseman feasts on, and it feels similar to the Cam Jurgens trade in a lot of ways.

The trade machine says the Eagles win big here. I agree. But both teams get something they’re looking for. The Packers get a proven guard for a playoff push, and the Birds get a future second to keep the pipeline flowing. Near term and long term, everybody walks away with something.

Why the Vikings might be even more desperate

Now, here’s the other option. I think the Packers are probably the better team overall, but the Vikings might be even more desperate because their starting guard is out for the season.

This package looks similar. Philadelphia sends Dickerson and a 2027 seventh-round pick via Dallas to Minnesota. In return, the Vikings send a 2027 fifth-round pick via Carolina and a 2028 second-round pick.

So the Eagles move up two rounds in the 2027 draft and still walk away with a future second. Again, that’s a classic Howie same-draft swap. Would the Vikings really move back two rounds and hand over a future second for one guard? I think they would. They have a better record, they need a guy right now, and contenders don’t wait around when their line is falling apart.

Do I believe in Minnesota’s long-term future? Not really. But that’s the Vikings’ problem, not ours. If they want to push their chips in for this season, Philly should be happy to take them.

The trade machine says the Eagles win big in this one, too. Honestly, I can’t put too much stock in that, because Howie Roseman can fleece anybody. He doesn’t need a computer to tell him when he’s got the upper hand.

The writing is on the wall

Look at the bigger picture. Teams are at a deficit when it comes to offensive linemen. A lot of guys are injured around the NFL, and the price for linemen keeps climbing. We just saw what Quenton Nelson got traded for. We saw what Jurgens got traded for. Those deals set the market, and Dickerson fits right into it.

The writing is on the wall here. I feel like it’s almost automatic at this point that Dickerson gets moved. The only questions left are where he goes and how much Philadelphia gets in return.

My money is on the Eagles walking away with a future second and a better 2027 pick, regardless of the destination. Green Bay or Minnesota, it doesn’t really matter. Howie is going to win this trade, and some NFC North team is going to be thrilled to let him.
