It’s no secret that the Pittsburgh Steelers have completely rebuilt their WR room in the last two offseasons. The three presumptive starters in that room: DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman Jr., and Germie Bernard, were all on different teams or in college less than two years ago.

For Pittman, the Steelers are a new beginning. He was acquired to be the WR No. 2 in Pittsburgh, adding physicality and versatility to that room, but all he wants to talk about is the rookie already turning heads in Pittsburgh.

Michael Pittman Jr. applauds Germie Bernard

“He came in the right way,” Pittman said of Bernard via the Steelers YouTube channel. “He has put his head down and he’s working hard and he’s executing the plays. He’s been here for two weeks now, and I feel like he already knows everything. Whatever he’s doing is working, and I think he’s going to keep on getting better.”

Germie Bernard’s 2025 stats at Alabama

  • 64 receptions.
  • 862 yards receiving.
  • 7 receiving touchdowns.

As an Alabama alum and content creator who watched every snap from Germie Bernard in Tuscaloosa over the past two seasons, this comes as no surprise. There is a reason why, on a team that was headlined by two potential first-round picks, it was Bernard who consistently was the go-to WR in Alabama.

He’s been a true professional since he was a sophomore in college, and he’s not only catching the attention of Pittman but of the coaches who will put him in place to succeed.

Steelers OC Brian Angelichio impressed with Germie Bernard

“He has risen to that challenge with great study habits outside of the building in addition to what he is doing daily,” Angelichio said via Nick Farabaugh on X-Twitter. So it’s clear that whether it’s the players around him or the coaches working with him, Bernard has made a great first impression, and he’s on pace to have a great rookie season.
