Trent Williams' wife, Sondra, has announced the tragic death of their newborn son.
In a post on Instagram, Sondra Williams confirmed their son, Trenton O’Brien Williams Jr, was stillborn on November 24 having been diagnosed with genetic disorder Trisomy 13. She had been pregnant with twins but lost Trenton's twin earlier in the pregnancy.
She wrote in part: "I’m at peace knowing you will never have to suffer. Although I will never hear your soft coos and cries or see those beautiful little eyes staring up at me, I am grateful to God for the time I shared with you.
"Trenton O’Brien Williams Jr., my sweet baby boy, we love you our Forever Angel!"
Williams, the San Francisco 49ers' All-Pro left tackle, has three daughters with Sondra. He has missed the 49ers' last two games with an ankle injury.
His teammate, cornerback Charvarius Ward, suffered personal tragedy last month with the death of his one-year-old daughter, Amani Joy.
Ward played in Sunday's defeat to the Buffalo Bills having missed three games following the passing of his daughter.
The 49ers face the Chicago Bears in Week 14 on Sunday.
