Just two weeks into the NFL season, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has already put the league on notice. Hurts’ individual performances in each of the Eagles two wins has vaulted him to the forefront of the MVP conversation.

Pro Football Focus released its weekly article ranking each MVP contender. After Week 1, Jalen Hurts checked in at No. 10 on the list.

While his Eagles downed Detroit in the season opener, Hurts’ stat line didn’t resemble that of an MVP frontrunner.

However, Hurts looked the part of a league MVP after completing 26-of-31 passes for 333 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He added 57 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries in Philadelphia’s 24-7 dismantling of the Minnesota Vikings.

Hurts’ performance elevated him to No. 3 on PFF’s MVP list. He jumps Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, but still trails Bills QB Josh Allen for the top spot.

There is no question that there is plenty more to come from Hurts this season. He seems to have established a great connection with WR A.J. Brown while also continuing to involve Devonta Smith and TE Dallas Goedert.

With a Week 3 duel against a NFC East foe in the Washington Commanders, Hurts will have every opportunity to add to his resumé against a defense that ranks 27th in points allowed.
