Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson makes extremely strong statement about Vols OL Darnell Wright
Tennessee Vols offensive lineman could end up being one of the top players selected in the 2023 NFL Draft
If the Chicago Bears don't trade the No. 1 overall pick, there's a good chance that Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson will be the top selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Anderson is viewed as the best pass rusher in the draft. And since the Bears don't need a quarterback thanks to the emergence of Justin Fields this past season, it makes sense for them to consider Anderson.
Even if the Bears trade the top pick, Anderson should still be a top-five selection.
With that in mind, it's probably worth listening to what Anderson has to say about some of the top offensive linemen in the draft.
On Wednesday, Anderson met with reporters and he was asked about the best offensive lineman he faced this season.
The former Alabama star pointed out Tennessee Vols right tackle Darnell Wright as the best o-lineman he played against in 2022.
Wright played one of his best games of the season against Anderson, holding the dominant edge rusher to zero sacks in Tennessee's win against Alabama this past season.
That performance alone put Wright on the draft radar as a potential first-round selection (Wright was great all season, it's just that his game against Alabama is what brought him some national attention).
Wright has helped himself a lot since the end of the 2022 season. A strong performance in the Orange Bowl against Clemson combined with a good showing at the Senior Bowl has Wright positioned to possibly be a top 15 selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.
