FOXBOROUGH, Mass – Drake Maye immediately took to Twitter after the New England Patriots drafted LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell with the No. 4 overall pick.
And it's clear the quarterback is excited to work with his newest teammate.
"Love this guy already 🔥 LFG," Maye posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Maye's comment came after the NFL posted a video of Campbell getting emotional when speaking about being selected by New England.
The offensive line was one of the biggest issues for the Patriots last season and left tackle remained the biggest need going into the draft.
Now they have Campbell, who is very excited to play with his new quarterback.
"He's a heck of a player, heck of a leader. He's the commander of our offense. I'm not only excited to play with him, but the rest of the team. I'm excited for teh future that we have in Foxborough, and I think we got a special season coming."
Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne also posted after the news.
As for Mike Vrabel, he told reporters after the selection, they knew that Campbell was their guy. He even added that it was a "very, very easy pick for us."
