The Chargers drafted Melvin Gordon in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft when the franchise was still in San Diego. He spent his first five seasons in the league with the team and experienced the franchise's move to Los Angeles first-hand in 2017.

During his time with the Chargers, he was selected to two Pro Bowls before moving on in 2020. He will now rep the Chargers yet again at the 2025 NFL Draft, where he will have the honor to announce the team's second (pick 55) and third-round (pick 86) selections. It seems like a big reason Gordon was selected was due to him being a legend at the University of Wisconsin. He is one of 11 players set to announce a draft pick at the 2025 NFL Draft that played at Wisconsin, and multiple of which being running backs like Gordon.
