The Los Angeles Chargers have often been linked to some of the top tight ends in the 2025 NFL Draft.

However, you don't see them land the consensus number-one player at the position very often, which is Penn State's Tyler Warren. But in a new A to Z Sports mock draft, he shockingly falls into the Chargers' laps, and it would be a major win for quarterback Justin Herbert.

Chargers select Penn State star TE Tyler Warren in a new mock draft

"Another slide stops here with Tyler Warren. The Chargers saw Ladd McConkey break out last season, but still desperately need pass catchers and able blockers in an offense the likes to run. Neither Tyler Conklin nor Will Dissly are true starting tight end talents in the league. Warren could plug and play, posting one of the more impressive rookie seasons in this situation given the likely available receiving market share (he could earn) in 2025."

New A to Z Sports mock draft

Tyler Warren was a do it all weapon for Penn State this past year and put up an incredible season as a result. He is often mocked inside the top 15 and sometimes even in the top 10 of the 2025 NFL Draft. So, if he is shockingly on the board at pick 22, I think they would be ecstatic.

His ability to impact both the passing and running game would fit perfectly in Jim Harbaugh's offense. Even as a rookie, he would be a true three-down player and instantly be the best tight end Herbert has ever played with. I personally don't see a world where he gets out of the top 14, but just the idea of this pairing is enough to wonder if they would possibly consider trading up for a talent like Warren.
