The Georgia Bulldogs received an important prediction this week from a national recruiting analyst.
Rivals.com's Sam Spiegelman predicted on Wednesday that Georgia will land 2026 four-star athlete Tyriq Green.
Green, 5-foot-10/191 lbs from Buford, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 10 athlete in the nation and the No. 20 player in the state of Georgia. He's also rated as the No. 150 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee, and USC are also in the mix for Green.
From Rivals.com: Green is one of the most prolific skill-position prospects in the country out of Peach State powerhouse Buford (Ga.) High. USC, Tennessee, Florida State, Auburn and Georgia are all in pursuit of Green, who returned to Athens again at the top of the month.
The Dawgs are in striking distance with the in-state four-star recruit as a decision inches closer. My prediction is on Georgia to win out here.
Green suggested to 247Sports earlier this month that Georgia is the leader in his recruitment, so Spiegelman's prediction doesn't come as a big surprise.
"I feel like Georgia's separated themselves a lot," said Green.
Green can play on either side of the ball, but he's likely going to be a defensive back at the collegiate level (though that's always subject to change).
The Georgia native will take official visits this spring/summer. Green's plan, for now, is to announce his commitment sometime before the start of his senior season of high school football.
Official visits can change the outlook of a recruitment, but it's going to be tough for any program to overtake the Bulldogs in this recruiting battle. It'll be a surprise if Green doesn't end up signing with Georgia.
