The first big QB domino of the offseason fell last week at the NFL Combine.

Matthew Stafford is staying put, agreeing to continue his career with the Los Angeles Rams, and ending the top QB sweepstakes before they even started.

So now teams are turning their attention to other options, with one franchise out west targeting a pair of Steelers signal callers…

It's become clear that the Steelers want either Russell Wilson or Justin Fields back in 2025, with the latter option gaining a lot of steam. But there is a chance that if they don't sign one before the legal tampering period begins on March 10th, they will be stuck looking for a dance partner when the new league year begins a few days later.

One of the hottest topics around the combine last week was what the Pittsburgh Steelers will do at QB for 2025. Both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson are set to become free agents, and the team is only expected to attempt to retain one of the two. Nearly everyone in Indianapolis believes the team prefers to extend Fields and let Wilson walk. But they also think signing Fields to a new deal won't prevent the Steelers from doing their homework on the QBs in this year's draft class. It's not out of the question that the Steelers retain Fields and draft a QB with a valuable pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Fields at only 25 years old and fresh off what you could argue were the six best games of his career before being benched in favor of Russell Wilson and Fields is arguably the top free-agent signal caller on the market

Seeing that teams like the Las Vegas Raiders are intrigued should be no surprise, and you can't rule out the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts yet either.

As for Russell Wilson, there is an obvious familiarity with new Raiders HC Pete Carroll, as the two spent a decade together with the Seattle Seahawks and won a Super Bowl.

Time will tell who goes where.
