The Bills are going to be hosting a player on a Top 30 visit that has all the upside in the world at a direct position of need. If any general manager in the league is going to take a hard look at using a premium draft pick on a player that didn't play in a Power 4 conference, it's Brandon Beane.
East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel Jr., a 6-foot-3 corner with ball skills and fluid athleticism, has a good chance of being in range for the Bills. Depending on how the board falls, Revel could be one of the top choices for the Bills at 30th overall.
After meeting with Revel at the NFL Scouting Combine, the Bills clearly want to do more work on getting to know one of the top corners in this year's class. With two interceptions and one defensive touchdown in the first three weeks of the season, Revel was off to a blazing start before tearing his ACL. The expectation is that Revel will be healthy enough to return for training camp, which would be crucial for his rookie season development.
The cornerback two spot is one that the Bills need to address in a big way. They locked up Christian Benford to a longterm extension, which was well earned, but the spot opposite him is wide open. Bringing in a long and rangy corner is certainly an option that they'll consider.
Plenty of Bills fans are shying away from the cornerback position simply because the Kaiir Elam pick didn't work out. Bills fans are going to need to adjust their expectations, because cornerback is clearly one of the biggest needs that Beane needs to fill. You can likely expect multiple corners to get selected throughout the Bills draft. It's just a matter of with what picks.
