Deion Sanders has been at the center of plenty of the discussions regarding the 2025 NFL draft. The Colorado head coach has been incredibly supportive of his son, Shedeur, the former starting quarterback for his Buffaloes.

Shedeur is often mocked in the first round of mock drafts for this year's draft. He could even be selected in the top ten picks. The New Orleans Saints have been discussed as a possible team where Sanders may land due to their unknown situation in the long-term at QB.

Deion mentions Saints as Shedeur landing spot

Sanders detailed his beliefs about Shedeur's potential landing spots during the draft. He mentioned the Saints as a place he's okay with his son going during it.

"Shedeur has talked to me intently about all the visits with all the teams he's had, so I know where his heart is and where he wants to go. If it's New York, it's New York."

"If it's Tennessee, if it's Cleveland, if it's still the Raiders, if it's New Orleans, if it's any of those teams that are seeking a quarterback, I'm happy with it, man – because I know what he's going to do to the organization. I know what he's going to do." — Deion Sanders

There has been plenty of speculation over the past year regarding Deion's involvement in where Shedeur may land. Some believed that he would strong-arm his son into going somewhere with a better long-term outlook or history than some other organizations. In this interview, that does not really feel like the case.

The comments are also notable for New Orleans because they were mentioned – as a team that is not picking in the top five picks. There must be a reason behind their inclusion by Deion.

The Titans, Giants, and Browns are picking in the top five, while the Saints, Jets, and Raiders are not. That was a bit of insight into some potential teams who may have interest in the young quarterback.

For the Saints, it'll be a bit of a waiting game most likely. Unless they trade all the way to the second overall pick to take Sanders, they'll have to see where the chips fall in terms of other teams picking ahead of them.

Shedeur could come off the board to one of those other teams that were mentioned in the interview before New Orleans gets their chance to select Sanders. Should be a very few interesting weeks ahead of round one.
