Christian Gonzalez's rookie season was cut short after he suffered a torn labrum that required season-ending surgery. So, when he came out for the 2024 season, he was ready to go and determined to show everyone what he is capable of.

And he did exactly that.

Gonzalez was tasked with covering some of the top receivers in the NFL this season, and locked them down during each and every game. The issue became that the Patriots only had one Gonzalez and he couldn't be covering all the receivers at once.

He finished with 59 total tackles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions and 11 passes defended. Gonzalez also recorded his first NFL touchdown against the Dolphins at the end of November on a fumble recovery.

Gonzalez received a lot of praise this season for his efforts despite the Patriots' struggles, and one very critical member of the media also recognized the young cornerback.

Former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick placed Gonzalez on his All-Belichick Team for the 2024 season.

“On Valentine’s Day there is usually a lot of love in the air. 30 years ago today, there was not a lot of love in Cleveland when Art Modell decided to move the team and leave me behind,” Belichick wrote in an Instagram post announcing his “All-Belichick” picks.

“I am not sure if anyone then would’ve cared about my All-Belichick Team. I’m not sure if anyone even cares now. But here is it…Thank you Michael Lombardi for helping me curate this list."

Gonzalez also finished fifth in the Comeback Player of the Year voting, along with being named second-team All-Pro.

But, earned this recognition from his former coach in the inaugural All-Belichick Team has got to feel pretty good.
