The New England Patriots' second fourth-round pick is officially in!
With the 137th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the New England Patriots select Florida State DT Joshua Farmer.
The Patriots traded up with the Seattle Seahawks, receiving this fourth round pick in exchange for a fifth-round (No. 157) and a seventh-round (No. 238) pick.
Everything to know about Joshua Farmer
Farmer was a two-year starter at Florida State, recording 9 sacks and 46 total quarterback pressures in his last two seasons (25 games).
The Patriots needed someone who could help stop the run, which was a major issue last season, and that's why Farmer is a good pick for New England.
Farmer spent time with the Patriots in the pre-draft process, coming to Foxborough on a 30 visit.
Here's what A to Z Sports' Draft Expert Destin Adams say to say about Farmer:
"Joshua Farmer is a solid athlete even at his large 6'3", 305 pounds frame. His impressive burst off the line paired with his long arms makes him a tough man for interior linemen to battle. And once he gets through the line, he has great vision to track down the QB or an RB in the backfield. Farmer could very well end up being a day one starter if he lands in the right situation. But he is far from a finished product, and with the right coaching staff, he could end up being a true difference maker. His best role would be as a 3-tech or 5-tech (tacking one guards or offensive tackles), but his large build and play strength would allow him to be a rotational 1-tech if needed," Adams writes.
