Flowers, who suffered a knee sprain in Week 18's win over the Cleveland Browns, missed Wednesday's practice. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported that Flowers has an "outside chance" to play Sunday, but missing Wednesday's practice doesn't help those odds.
Flowers' knee sprain has kept him out of four official practices over the past 11 days. The Ravens were playing their starters in the regular season finale against the Browns in order to lock up the AFC North division title before the Steelers played their game later in the day.
The Ravens had Tylan Wallace start in Flowers' place last weekend against the Steelers in their 28-14 Wild Card Round victory at M&T Bank Stadium. Wallace caught one of his two targets for 21 yards and led all receivers in snaps with 39.
Baltimore mostly relied on its running game against Pittsburgh as Derrick Henry had another monstrous postseason outing with 186 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Lamar Jackson contributed with 81 yards of his own on 15 carries. He only threw the ball six more times than he ran with it.
Sunday's game may require Jackson to utilize his arm more often as the Bills bolster one of the NFL's best passing games with Josh Allen under center. Buffalo will have a much better chance of topping the 14 points Pittsburgh was able to muster against Baltimore's defense, especially at home in Orchard Park.
Perhaps this will push Flowers to be ready to play Sunday night, but without at least one practice under his belt before then, it's hard to imagine Jackson will have his top target available. Flowers posted 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns in his second season, a year that made him the first receiver Baltimore drafted to earn Pro Bowl honors.
