When you talk about the improvements that are needed from a recruiting perspective for Notre Dame, there is none bigger than at wide receiver. The 2026 recruiting class needs to be a big one for Mike Brown, who has some pressure on him. One of the bigger names to know on the board right now is Aledo (Texas) High School pass catcher Kaydon Finley.

When you talk about the most productive wide receivers in the 2026 recruiting class, you’d be hard pressed to find many better than Finley. He’s especially impressive when you consider that he is playing against some of the best competition in the entire country. Finley has been dominant for Aledo over the last couple of seasons.

As a junior, Finley put together a tremendous season. In 14 games, Finley hauled in 81 receptions for 1,432 yards and 21 touchdowns. That’s an average of 17.7 yards per catch, showcasing the big play ability that Finley brings to the table. Finley had nine games where he went for over 100 yards this season.

From a recruiting rankings perspective, Finley is considered to be a four-star player on every major recruiting platform. He is currently rated as the No. 84 overall player and No. 13 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. That ranking also has Finley pegged as the No. 11 overall player in the talent-rich state of Texas.

Notre Dame is battling against some of the top programs in the country for Finley currently. Some of his top offers include the Fighting Irish, Texas, Georgia, Oregon, Miami, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Auburn among many others.

Despite that demand for Finley, he remains high on Notre Dame. They are getting a return visit from him this weekend for Junior Day. Hopefully Finley can have some time to hang out with current Notre Dame stars Leonard Moore and Jaden Greathouse, both of whom are also from Texas.
