The Indianapolis Colts search for a new defensive coordinator has officially come to an end. The team is hiring former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.
After parting ways with Gus Bradley, the Colts landed one of the most respected defensive minds in the NFL and, according to a source, one of the most sought-after defensive coordinator candidates this cycle.
This hire starts a dramatic shift in Indianapolis' defensive philosophy, which fans have been begging to see for some time. I'll go into more detail on Anarumo's scheme and what fans should expect overall in another piece in the coming days, but fans can expect a more diverse coverage scheme. I don't blame the skepticism due to the Colts' lack of offseason aggressiveness. But I would be shocked if the Colts made this commitment to make a drastic change to their defensive philosophy without being willing to change their current personnel to make it work.
