When the Buffalo Bills drafted Keon Coleman, expectations were heaped on his shoulders, especially in light of trading away star Stefon Diggs just weeks prior. Expecting any rookie to come in and replace a true No. 1 wide receiver's production is unfair, and the fanbase needs to be patient with Coleman's development.

Progress is certainly being made, though, as we've seen plenty of evidence of Coleman's big play ability in recent weeks, highlighted by a massive day in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans that saw Coleman finish with four catches for 125 yards, and what likely should have ruled a touchdown but was overturned. For his efforts, including racking up 80 yards after the catch, Coleman received NFL Rookie of the Week honors.

Head coach Sean McDermott likes what he's seeing from Coleman and other rookies for the Bills this season, with Coleman, running back Ray Davis, and defense tackle DeWayne Carter all contributing in big ways.

"It's been important for us," McDermott said. "We knew that going into the season that it was going to take some time, and it's still a work in progress in a lot of areas. There's always something to work on with your team… With the young guys in this case, I think they've contributed very well in this short season to this point. Will their experience pay off? I've got to believe it will… I think that holistically it's been good for us, been good for them and we're getting more and more comfortable in these roles."

Coleman still has plenty of growing to do, but it's exciting to see the flashes of massive potential in his game. Veteran Amari Cooper came away very impressed with Coleman's big performance, and with a veteran like Cooper in the building to learn from, the longterm upside for Coleman is sky high.
