The Indianapolis Colts are 3-3 on the year after picking up their first AFC South win in Week 6 over the Tennessee Titans.
A win in Week 7 over the Miami Dolphins would put them over .500 for the first time this season. And it looks like they are taking that opportunity seriously, choosing to sign a former Dolphins starter to their practice squad.
The Colts signed RB Salvon Ahmed
The Colts shook up their practice squad on Wednesday, which is something they've done countless times this season. But what makes this one different is the fact that their newest practice squad member is running back Salvon Ahmed, who spent the previous four seasons with the Dolphins, who just so happens to be their Week 7 matchup.
Ahmed began his career with the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 as an undrafted free agent. He landed with the Dolphins after being waived by the 49ers and went on to appear in six games and start four during the 2020 season. He turned 75 rushing attempts that season into 319 yards and three touchdowns, all of which are his career highs.
He never logged a game as a starter again after the 2020 season, but he stuck around with the Dolphins for the next three seasons. During his career, he has appeared in 38 games and recorded 163 rushing attempts, 593 yards, and five touchdowns. While he hasn't started a game under current Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, he has appeared in 32 of his 38 career games with him. He has worked in that offense and learned their playbook over the last three years. This makes him a great scout team RB for the Colts to utilize this week as they prepare to face the Dolphins' rushing attack. And with the Colts struggling so much against the run, they could use all the help they can get.
In the blink of an eye, the Indianapolis Colts’ remaining schedule got drastically more difficult
The NFL trade deadline is still three weeks away, but that didn't stop two blockbuster trades from shaking up the league ahead of Week 7. Two AFC teams added new offensive weapons via trade with the New York Jets, landing Davante Adams and the Buffalo Bills acquiring Amari Cooper. Both of these are teams the […]

And Colts defensive coordinator Gus Bradley sees a lot of a former Pro Bowl player he has coached in the past in Womack. Here is the full answer […]
