A former Georgia Bulldogs standout received a big NFL promotion on Tuesday.
Former Georgia running back Thomas Brown, who is a member of the Chicago Bears coaching staff, was promoted to offensive coordinator on Tuesday.
Brown received the promoted after Shane Waldron was fired as the Bears' offensive coordinator.
Brown, who is in his first season with the Bears, was serving as the franchise's passing game coordinator before the change was made on Tuesday.
The former Georgia running back spent the 2023 season as the Carolina Panthers' offensive coordinator.
Brown, who spent three seasons as a player in the NFL, has been coaching in the NFL since 2020 when he was hired by Sean McVay to coach running backs for the Los Angeles Rams.
The promotion for Brown comes after he interviewed for several NFL head coaching jobs in the offseason.
Brown played at Georgia from 2004 to 2007. He was a member of the freshman All-SEC team in 2004.
