Unfortunately, injuries have dominated the conversation leading up to the 204th regular season meeting between the Chicago Bears (3-9) and Green Bay Packers (4-8).

While the Bears have plenty of injury issues of their own, the Packers surprisingly ruled out two-time All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari for Sunday’s contest. The Packers revealed that Bakhtiari underwent an appendectomy and will be unavailable for Sunday’s game.

Bakhtiari took to Twitter to explain what happened leading up to the operation.

The 10-year veteran has fallen victim to some tough luck this season. His season debut was delayed until Week 3 as he was recovering from knee swelling issues after suffering a torn ACL from the regular season finale in 2020.

He’s slated to his fourth game of the season, leaving uncertainty surrounding quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ blindside. Rodgers, who is expected to start on Sunday, has been dealing with his own bumps and bruises in what has been a disappointing season for Green Bay.
