Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur gave an update on a key injury on Wednesday.
LaFleur told reporters that he expects quarterback Aaron Rodgers to play on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Rodgers, who has been dealing with a broken thumb since week five, left this past week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a rib injury.

Quarterback Jordan Love finished the game in Rodgers’ place and played well. The former Utah State quarterback passed for 113 yards and a touchdown on 6-of-9 passing.
I thought Green Bay might give Rodgers a week off so they could get a better look at Love.
But Rodgers is committed to playing until the Packers are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
Once Green Bay has no shot at the playoffs — and their shot right now is slim at best — it’s a possibility that Rodgers will shut it down so he can get healthy for next season.
If that happens, it’ll give the Packers a chance to showcase Love either for their own purposes (if they still envision him taking over for Rodgers eventually) or for a potential trade.
