Every year there's always plenty of debate as to who the real "NFL University" is among college football programs that sends the most players to the league. In the early 2000s it was Miami (FL). In the 2010s it was a debate between top SEC schools, led by Alabama, Georgia, and LSU. This year it seems that title could be split between two schools.

Michigan and Alabama both have six 2024 NFL Draft prospects projected to be Top 100 picks based on the latest Pro Football Focus Big Board that you can find here and in this post below.

Alabama certainly holds the edge in terms of first round projections (with four), but Michigan leads the way with depth this season, earning 18 NFL Combine invitations. But which players from each school are set to be selected inside the top 100 picks? And where do they rank according to PFF?

Top NFL Draft Prospects from Alabama and Michigan

Top 100 Alabama Prospects

  • Terrion Arnold, CB – 14th
  • Dallas Turner, EDGE – 15th
  • JC Latham, OT – 19th
  • Kool-Aid McKinstry – 21st
  • Chris Braswell, EDGE – 38th
  • Jermaine Burton, WR – 52nd

Top 100 Michigan Prospects

  • J.J. McCarthy, QB – 31st
  • Roman Wilson, WR – 48th
  • Kris Jenkins, DT – 55th
  • Mike Sainristil, CB – 58th
  • Junior Colson, LB – 65th
  • Blake Corum, RB – 88th

PFF's Big Board is just one data point, but several of these prospects also found themselves on my A to Z Top 50 Prospect Rankings just two weeks ago. Large scale data also confirms that most of these names are inside the top 100 consensus right now too. No other schools come close to Alabama or Michigan this cycle with this many top notch prospects.

The NFL Combine results may change where these top prospects rank overall in the coming days, but for now it seems like the "NFL University" crown for this draft cycle will come down to Crimson & Gray or Maize and Blue.

If you would like to learn more about many of these players our A to Z Film Room just held a 4-round NFL Mock Draft that you can find in the video below! You can also follow me @FF_TravisM on X for NFL Comine updates all week long!
