The New England Patriots were able to find their way into the win column with a big win over the division-rival New York Jets. It was a battle of defenses as the Patriots were able to squeak out a 15-10 victory.
Unfortunately, most of the focus today has nothing to do with the victory but rather a controversial moment in the contest between Jets CB Sauce Gardner and Patriots QB Mac Jones.
Attempting to get a first down late in the contest, Mac Jones was wrestled to the ground by C.J. Mosley. Afterward, you could see Gardner shove the Patriots QB which sparked an outcry on social media.
Well, we seem to have an update of sorts as Gardner himself posted a video update, showing a little more of what went down on the field and it paints Jones as an instigator at the end of the play.
From the video, it does look like Jones went after a certain sensitive area on the Jets CB, causing him to push over the QB, evidence that wasn't apparent during the contest yesterday. Gardner commented on Jones' love-tap during a postgame presser.
We previously reported on how Jones and Gardner had differing takes on the incident, you can read that story here. The whole bizarre situation has now reached a fever pitch.
It's unclear whether the NFL will take any disciplinary action for those involved, but the entire situation just got a whole lot more interesting with the latest video development.
