The New England Patriots were in need of additional depth on the defensive line and it seems they have found someone they want to take a closer look at.
The Boston Herald's Doug Kyed reports that the Patriots have signed defensive end Manny Jones to the practice squad.
After having played college ball at Colorado State, Jones went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. He signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent, but was waived during final roster cuts and added to the practice squad shortly after.
In his rookie season, Jones appeared in four games for the Cardinals, finishing with six tackles, but was released in May 2023.
The Pittsburgh Steelers claimed Jones off waivers the next day, but he was waived as part of final roster cuts in August.
Now he's headed to Foxborough.
The Patriots are in need of additional help on the defensive line after losing Daniel Ekuale for the season. The defensive tackle suffered a torn bicep in Sunday's win over the Jets.
Davon Godchaux also got hurt on Sunday, suffering an ankle injury.
Let's see if Jones is the right fit.
