The New England Patriots made another addition to the team on Thursday.
Per his agency, the Patriots signed Breon Borders to the practice squad.
The cornerback has appeared in 32 career games with six different teams across his time in the NFL. Yet if one includes his stints with practice squads, his time in Foxborough will mark his 12th team.
Borders joined the league in 2017, signing with the Las Vegas Raiders (formerly Oakland) as an undrafted free agent. After the preseason he was cut and signed to the practice squad. Borders went to have stints with the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Washington Commanders throughout the following two seasons.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, and Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, and Chicago Bears were next before he landed with the Atlanta Falcons in June 2023.
However, he was suspended for the first two games of the season after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs and was released by the Falcons.
The Patriots are in need of another cornerback after Marcus Jones hurt his shoulder in the loss to the Dolphins, along with Jonathan Jones missing the last game with an ankle injury. New England is also without Jack Jones who is on injured reserve.
Borders signing leaves only one more spot remaining on the practice squad.
