The New England Patriots received some good news ahead of their matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

While the cornerback room has suffered some harsh injuries, the Patriots brought in some additional help, trading for J.C. Jackson from the Los Angeles Chargers.

And it didn't take him long to prepare, with ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting that Jackson "is expected to be active" on Sunday.

And along with Jackson, the Patriots could also have Jonathan Jones back, who was seen warming up on the field prior to the game.

The Patriots acquired J.C. Jackson in a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers earlier this week in exchange for a late-round pick.

The team was in need of additional depth at cornerback with many players injured including star rookie Christian Gonzalez. And with Gonzalez now being placed on injured reserve, this was clearly a crucial move for the team.

Despite having worn No. 27 when he was in New England for his first stint, Jackson will take the field in No. 29 this time around. Here is the first look of Jackson in a Patriots jersey.

It will be interesting to see how he does back in the Patriots secondary on Sunday.
