It seems like Forde never passes up a chance to take a shot at the Vols. Whether it's the NCAA recruiting investigation that took down Jeremy Pruitt or the 2017 coaching search that nearly ended with Greg Schiano getting hired (thank goodness the fans stepped in), Forde almost always has something negative to say about Tennessee.
Just last month, Forde questioned Vols head coach Josh Heupel's maturity because of a timeout he took at the end of Tennessee's loss to Florida (and I explained here why Forde's take wasn't just bad, it made no sense).
But despite his obvious disdain for all things Orange (Pantone 151 only), Forde is picking Tennessee to beat Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon in Neyland Stadium.
Here's his reasoning for picking the Vols.
From SI.com: This is less a matter of analyzing the matchup than analyzing the setup. And it sets up extremely well for the Volunteers. They’re coming off an open date for additional rest and preparation, while the Aggies are coming off a slugfest with Alabama and now must go on the road. Tennessee is much improved defensively, leading the SEC in fewest yards allowed per play, and should be able to make life difficult for Max Johnson and a fitful A&M offense.
For once, Vols fans are hoping Forde is right.
