There was some worry that it could be a serious injury amongst the fanbase, especially after the announcement that J.J. McCarthy would be out for the season. Luckily, the Vikings seemed to have avoided serious injury with Addison, as head coach Kevin O'Connell told the media that it doesn't appear to be serious.
That's great news for the Vikings who would have been devastated at the wide receiver position without Addison. Jalen Nailor has stepped up in a big way, but he's not ready to be the guy opposite of Justin Jefferson. Brandon Powell is also in the building but he's meant to be a complementary piece. And we haven't gotten to the fact that T.J. Hockenson is still on the physically unable-to-perform list.
A high ankle sprain is usually around a 4-6 week recovery period which would put his first 2-4 games in jeopardy.
