Fantasy football owners should probably make sure they have New York Giants second year wide receiver Jalin Hyatt in their starting lineups for Week One after hearing his most recent comments.
Hyatt, who was a third round selection by the Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft after a breakout season with the Tennessee Vols, didn't score a touchdown as a rookie last season.
And that's fueling the South Carolina native.
Hyatt told the New York Post on Monday that he's planning to end his scoring drought in Week One.
“Week 1,” said Hyatt. “I’m hungry. I’ve never had a season in my life of not scoring a touchdown. That stays with me. That will probably stay with me for the rest of my life. I’ll be ready.”
Hyatt caught 23 passes for 373 yards as a rookie in 2023, but he wasn't able to find the end zone. That was mostly because the Giants dealt with subpar offensive line play and a revolving door at quarterback. Hyatt was often streaking down the field open, but the quarterback either couldn't deliver an accurate ball or didn't have enough time.
The Giants open the 2024 season at home against the Minnesota Vikings on September 8.
