The son of the great T.Y. Hilton is about to enter college in 2025 and several top schools are currently pursuing his services. A fringe four-star recruit now, Eugene Hilton Jr. is nearing 30 FBS scholarship opportunities and has snagged official offers from schools like Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kansas just this spring alone.

Why all the hype here recently? For starters, he is the son of T.Y. Hilton. In case you're somehow unfamiliar, Hilton was an incredible wide receiver with the Indianapolis Colts, earning Pro Bowl honors four years in a row, finishing his career ranked Top-60 in receiving yards among all players in NFL history. But beyond the bloodline bonus, Eugene Hilton Jr. has simply been too impressive to not take notice.

Eugene Hilton Jr. Impressing the Best of the Best

In just 10 games last fall he racked up nearly 900 receiving yards, averaging over 18 yards per reception and scoring double-digit touchdowns against some of the toughest competition in his state. This spring he's been impressing on visits, at recruiting events, garnering interest from more and more top brands in college football.

In fact, just this past week he took an unofficial visit with Clemson and Dabo Swinney where he said things went "awesome" with the Tigers (according to Steve Wiltfong of On3 Sports).

Clemson has actually been recruiting Hilton Jr. for more than a year now, but if you're familiar with how their process typically works they are famously slow in offering scholarships. That offer now seems like it's coming very soon. However, even if it doesn't come, Hilton has plenty of other top options to choose from. He's already visited Michigan this spring, and is now set to visit both Wisconsin and Georgia officially in June.

Which school has the upper hand for Hilton?

It's hard to tell which school truly has the upper hand in Hilton's recruiting. However, one school has the perfect combination of on-field success, proven NFL development, and a personal relationship going back to almost two decades.

Georgia's new wide receivers coach James Coley actually recruited Hilton's father back in 2007 when he was the offensive coordinator and QB coach at Florida International. In fact, Coley extended an offer to T.Y. Hilton his very first week on the job back then.

Eugene Hilton Jr. (along with the rest of the football world) is already familiar with Georgia's immense success, but says he's excited to check it out for himself this summer when he visits the Bulldogs in June.

A lot still needs to happen before Hilton actually lands with Georgia, but all the ingredients of a perfect match are certainly there. Hilton Jr. doesn't seem like he's in a rush to make a final decision just yet. And he's made it clear that he wants to visit Ole Miss before making a decision as well. But if he doesn't land with Georgia or Ole Miss, Michigan or Wisconsin seem like the next best bets to land this former perennial NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver's son.
