2025 four-star quarterback KJ Lacey has been committed to the Texas Longhorns since last June.

Other programs, such as Auburn, have continued to recruit Lacey despite his commitment to the Longhorns.

Lacey, however, told On3 this week that his commitment to Texas is "as strong as it can be".

“I feel like I have a really strong commitment to Texas right now,” said Lacey. “My commitment is still as strong as it can be, I think I’m in a really good spot with Texas.”

Lacey, 6-foot/175 lbs from Saraland, AL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 11 quarterback in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of Alabama. He's also rated as the No. 86 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

The Alabama native admitted to On3 that he could still take an official visit to Auburn, but it sounds like Texas fans don't have anything to worry about. Taking official visits is part of the process for high school recruits. And it's not uncommon for players who are solid in their commitment to a program to take a visit to another program.

Texas currently has 10 players committed to its 2025 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 13 in the nation.
