Right now, the New England Patriots don't even know if Drake Maye will be the starter once the 2024 season begins. All signs point to Jacoby Brissett taking on that role, while Maye gets a year to adapt.

However, Bleacher Report released their VERY early "2024 Stat Predictions for Every Projecting Starting NFL QB."

And not only do they have Maye listed as the starting quarterback, but they also disrespected the rookie in the worst way before he's even had a chance to prove himself.

They currently have Maye projected to have the worst completion percentage, least amount of yards, and least number of touchdowns.

Projected Stats:
59.6 Completion Percentage
2,822 Passing Yards
15 Touchdowns
12 Interceptions
127 Rushing Yards
1 Rushing Touchdown

The only stat he's not at the top of (in a bad way) is interceptions, with Gardner Minshew, Caleb Williams, Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, and Will Levis all projected to throw more than him.

Expectations are low for Maye right now based on this projection, so he will just have to prove everyone wrong.

Maye is ranked as the 26th-best QB in football, according to PFF Trevor Sikkema.

"Maye is the unknown as a rookie. He did have the most big-time throws in college football over the past two years, which raises the ceiling of this group. If he is the starter, you can expect some gunslinger ups and downs," per Sikkema.

Maye's Highlight Reel Pass

During Wednesday's practice session, Maye had an impressive throw and it reminded some of a future Hall of Fame quarterback.

On Wednesday, the rookie quarterback did his best Patrick Mahomes impression, firing off the perfect no-look pass during practice.

Mahomes is arguably the best player in the National Football League right now and will go down as one of the top quarterbacks in history. So for Maye to get compared to him is very promising, even if it's just based on this throw.

And the Patriots can truly utilize this trick from Maye during the season. So receivers will have to be ready at all times.
