The Tennessee Vols are one of several programs in the mix for 2025 five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench.

Ffrench, 6-foot-1/185 lbs from Jacksonville, FL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 3 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 3 player in the state of Florida. He's also rated as the No. 16 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

While the Vols are in the mix for Ffrench, it's Ohio State that's currently considered the leader for the elite wide receiver.

Tennessee, however, is a team to "watch out for" in this battle according to On3's Chad Simmons

“Watch out for Tennessee,” said Simmons. “[Kelsey] Pope, Josh Heupel, those guys did a great job getting him on campus in March. Really hit a home run, not just with him, but I’m told with his parents as well. Of course, Florida State has always been there. He was back at Miami here recently. I agree with Steve (Wiltfong), right now setting the pace is Ohio State. But watch out for a school like Tennessee here.”

Ffrench took an unofficial visit to Tennessee last month and the Vols made a big impression on the coveted recruit. He's set to take an official visit to Tennessee in June.

It's going to be tough to beat Ohio State in this recruiting battle, but the Vols aren't backing down. Tennessee showed during the 2024 recruiting cycle that they can beat out one of the top programs in the nation for a five-star wide receiver (they beat out Georgia for five-star wide receiver Mike Matthews, a native of Georgia), so we certainly can't rule the Vols out when it comes to landing a commitment from Ffrench.
