Stetson Bennett's time at Georgia ended when he declared for the 2023 NFL Draft after he brought the Bulldogs two national titles in football.
But there's a new Bennett in town in Athens, with the brother of the former UGA signal-caller announcing his commitment to the Bulldogs' baseball program earlier in the week.
The program's season just came to a close with an 8-5 loss in Game 3 of the NCAA Super Regional, finishing 43-17. The Bulldogs were a mere victory shy of the eight-team College World Series field as the No. 7 seed.
Knox Bennett was most recently at Chipola College, batting .350 with three home runs and 21 RBI in the 49 games he played both first baseman and third baseman during his sophomore season at the Florida junior college.
He was also named to the D1 All-NJCAA Region 8 Gold Glove Team in recognition of his efforts on the field.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder will join Wes Johnson's baseball team as a preferred walk-on.
With the move to Georgia, Knox Bennett is reunited with his brother, Luke Bennett on the campus. In 2023 as a redshirt sophomore on the football team under head coach Kirby Smart, Luke Bennett caught a single 2-yard pass in Georgia’s 63-3 Orange Bowl win over Florida State.
