The Dallas Cowboys are in full preparation mode with training camp officially beginning this week in Oxnard, California. To no surprise, there are no shortages of storylines already making waves.

Among those is that the Cowboys could be getting a big boost from a rising player on the defensive side of the ball. Damone Clark is in his second training camp with the team since being drafted out of LSU.

Clark has been limited with injuries early in his young career. But that has not stopped him from making a positive impression on the coaching staff. In fact, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is "excited" about what Clark brings to the table.

“I’m so excited for Damone,” Quinn said this week as the former LSU standout is now healthy and good to go for the upcoming 2023 season. “He has a work ethic that won’t stop.”

The former LSU defender is a quick and fast linebacker that can get sideline to sideline. He displays impressive instincts and read-and-react ability when playing the run. Dallas was able to grab him in the fifth-round due to his medicals.

Clark is considered to be "fully healthy", which should prove to be a big boost for the Cowboys. If he can emerge on the second level of the defense, that would allow Quinn to utilize Micah Parsons in even more ways.

The Dallas Cowboys are loaded with playmakers on all three levels of the defense. Clark has the chance to fit right in and make a big impact now that he's full-go with the regular season just weeks away.
