Bryce Baringer, Patriots Training Camp 2023

FOXBORO, Mass. — The lights were shining and the stands were filled with fans as the New England Patriots hosted their annual in-stadium practice on Friday night.

Season ticket members and Foxborough residents were able to attend, getting an up close view at the 88 players who make up the Patriots current roster.

While they were not in full pads and drills were at a low speed, it gave some of the other members of the team time to shine.

And the one who did just that was rookie punter Bryce Baringer.

His best player of the night was a 65-yard punt downfield, that caused punt returner Demario Douglas to back up in an effort to catch it.

Baringer is competing against Corliss Waitman, but it was clear that the rookie left everyone wanting to see more.

Here’s what else I saw from Friday's in-stadium practice:

– Mac Jones threw two interceptions, one by Kyle Dugger on a pass intended for Mike Gesicki and another by rookie Marte Mapu.

-Isaiah Bolden also recorded an interception.

– Chad Ryland and Nick Folk battled it out, with Ryland going 3-for-4 and Folk going 3-for-4.

Ryland missed from 48 yards, but was good from 38, 41, and 32 yards.

Folk missed from 45 yards, but was good from 43, 43, and 49 yards.

-Kayshon Boutte continued his strong performance this week with a few touchdown catches.

-Matthew Judon gets paid after agreeing on a contract adjustment with the Patriots on Friday.

– Jack Jones was in attendance after an apparent situation that occurred at training camp on Thursday, with the cornerback abruptly leaving the field. He later returned, but did not participate for the rest of the session.

– Jack Jones also spoke to the media for the first time since his arrest in June. Here is everything he said.

– After spending the last few sessions on the conditioning fields, Tyquan Thornton was back practicing with the team and taking reps with the offense.

-Devin McCourty made an appearance at the practice

– Gillette Stadium activated it's new video board. Check out the full video here
