The Houston Texans have added one former New England Patriots tight end.

KPRC's Aaron Wilson reports that the Texans have signed Dalton Keene after a successful workout.

Keene was drafted by the Patriots in the third round (101th overall pick) in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, he wasn't able to have the rookie season he had hoped for.

Keene made his NFL debut in Week 7, appearing in six games with three receptions for 16 total yards. However, he had a short stint on injured reserve, being activated in early December.

Before his second season in the league, he was placed on injured reserve once again due to a knee injury and was ultimately waived a year later in August 2022.

Soon after, Keene was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad, but was released a month later. He then was signed to the Denver Broncos practice squad, being released three days later and then re-signed over a month later. Yet, that didn't work out either.

He signed with the Eagles once again in January 2023 for a second stint on a reserve/future contract, but was waived in July.

Now he's getting an opportunity with the Texans and it will be interesting to see what happens. Can Keene earn a spot in Houston?
