The New England Patriots are bringing a wide receiver prospect to Foxboro, Mass., before the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Patriots are hosting Ole Miss wide receiver Jonathan Mingo on a visit, he told WCBI’s Jon Sokoloff.

Mingo, who’s 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. He registered a 39.5-inch vertical leap and a 10-feet, 9-inch broad jump, as well.

The big wideout caught 51 passes for 861 yards with five touchdowns last season and recorded 112 receptions for 1,758 yards with 12 touchdowns in his four-year career.

The best game of Mingo’s career came Week 6 against Vanderbilt last season. He caught nine passes on 10 targets for 247 yards with two touchdowns. Mingo, 21, primarily played outside with the Rebels but also spent time in the slot.

The Patriots could use more wide receiver depth behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kendrick Bourne, DeVante Parker and Tyquan Thornton. They currently have Tre Nixon, Lynn Bowden and Raleigh Webb competing for spots on the roster. Mingo is a projected fourth-round pick by DraftScout.com.

The Patriots also are hosting Mississippi State cornerback Emmanuel Forbes on a visit.
