New England Patriots 2019 first-round pick N’Keal Harry is still a free agent despite receiving interest from the Dallas Cowboys on Monday.
Harry was among a group of players who worked out for the Cowboys, per ESPN’s Todd Archer. The workout list included another former Patriots wide receiver, Lynn Bowden.
The Cowboys wound up signing free-agent wide receiver Tyron Johnson after the workout.
Quarterbacks Jacob Eason and Bryce Perkins and cornerbacks Jordan Miller and Thakarius Keyes were also in the group.
Harry was the 32nd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. He caught 57 passes for 598 yards with four touchdowns in three injury-plagued seasons with New England before being traded to the Chicago Bears for a 2024 seventh-round pick. He caught seven passes for 116 yards in seven games last season with Chicago.
Harry was the second wide receiver selected in the 2019 NFL Draft after Marquise Brown. Deebo Samuel and A.J. Brown were the next wideouts off the board after Harry. D.K. Metcalf, Diontae Johnson, Terry McLaurin and Hunter Renfrow were also drafted that year. New England found a better wide receiver in undrafted free agent Jakobi Meyers.
Needless to say, it's not a great sign that Harry remains unsigned in early June. He was one of the worst picks of the Bill Belichick era.
