The New England Patriots are going international during the season, and one player is using his vacation time to scout out the area.
Josh Uche is currently in Frankfurt, Germany, where the Patriots will be in Week 10 of the 2023 season for a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
And even more so, the linebacker provided a glimpse into his exact location, scouting out the venue for the game. On his Instagram story, Uche posted a video of himself in Deutsche Bank Park, the home of Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt and the site of the Patriots game against the Colts.
The Patriots game on November 12 will mark the team's first time playing a home international game. Prior to this season, they have played two games in London and one in Mexico.
New England remains undefeated in International games.
"We are thrilled to be selected to play in Germany this year," Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft said in a press release through the NFL. "We are undefeated in our three previous international games, thanks in part to the outstanding support from our fans. We know that some of our most passionate fans reside in Germany, and we look forward to finally playing a game there. We know the fans will create an amazing atmosphere. We are sure it will be a memorable experience and one of the highlights of the 2023 season."
The game in Germany is part of the NFL's International Home Marketing Area (IHMA) program, with the NFL designating the country as a home territory for Patriots in 2021.
The Patriots have not played an international game since 2017 in Mexico City, defeating the Las Vegas (formerly Oakland) Raiders.
The period in between mandatory minicamp and training camp is thought of as summer vacation for the players, but it's clear the Uche's mind is on the upcoming season, using his free time to scout out where he will be playing in November.
