Kelee Ringo is an ELITE CB, with a high BUST factor: NFL Draft Film Breakdown
In this film breakdown, we take a look at Georgia CB Kelee Ringo, a former 5-star recruit, who is one of the biggest boom or bust prospects in this class.
The 2023 CB class is stacked, which doesn't bode well for a guy like Ringo, who has some incredible reps, and some awful ones too. At times, he looks unstoppable in press coverage, completely removing WRs from the play. He's balanced, good with his hands, and blazing fast when working vertically. However, he has some issues relating to his other athletic traits. Other than his size and speed combo, he is nothing special as an athlete. His short-area quickness is a problem, putting him in big trouble if he misses his punch at the line of scrimmage. The athletic limitations he has will most likely never improve in any significant way, but whatever team drafts him, will most likely take that into consideration, and use him in ways that limit his ability to be exploited.
Strengths:
- Speed and athleticism: Ringo is known for his impressive speed, agility, and explosiveness on the field.
- Coverage skills: He has excellent coverage skills, including man-to-man coverage and zone coverage, making him a valuable asset for his team.
- Ball skills: Ringo has a good ability to locate and track the ball, which allows him to make interceptions and break up passes.
- Physicality: He is a physical player who is not afraid to get involved in tackles and make big hits.
Weaknesses:
- Technique: Although he has good natural abilities, Ringo could benefit from refining his technique and improving his footwork to become even more effective in coverage.
- Awareness: At times, Ringo may struggle with recognizing and reacting to certain offensive plays, which could lead to mistakes and missed opportunities.
- Discipline: Ringo has been penalized for pass interference and holding in the past, indicating that he could work on improving his discipline on the field.
