The Arizona Cardinals have released the first injury report for their Week 1 road contest against the Washington Commanders, and there are relatively no surprises across the board.
Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz was a limited participant during practice on Wednesday. Ertz has been out of action since suffering a season-ending knee injury during the Cardinals’ Week 10 road matchup against the Los Angeles Rams last season. The veteran tight end was activated off the active/PUP list on Aug. 15 but has since not managed to be a full participant in a single practice.
The Cardinals are also keeping a close watch on the status of wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, who is nursing a hamstring ailment. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, but he did take part in multiple route-running drills throughout the session.
Cardinals offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum was listed as a limited participant in practice due to a hand injury.
Cardinals linebacker Dennis Gardeck featured in the entirety of practice on the day. There was some early doubt regarding Gardeck's status for Week 1 after he left the team’s home preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a knee ailment, but he is now on par to receive the green light to play on Sunday.
