The Green Bay Packers ruled out Elgton Jenkins and Zayne Anderson on Friday ahead of their Week 3 matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Jenkins was expected to miss this week's game due to the sprained MCL he suffered against the Atlanta Falcons and Anderson missed Thursday after injuring his hamstring, so neither development was much of a surprise.

But, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur hit reporters with a surprise when he listed star cornerback Jaire Alexander as questionable. Per LaFleur, Alexander's back was acting up during Friday's session.

"Zayne Anderson and Elgton Jenkins are out. David Bakhtiari, Aaron Jones, Lukas Van Ness, Christian Watson, and Jaire Alexander are all questionable," said LaFleur

"Yeah, just his [Alexander's] back was acting up a little bit," he added when asked about the two-time Pro Bowler. "So we'll monitor that [and] we'll see where he where he's at."

So, the Packers are once again playing the waiting game with another key player. It remains to be seen if Jones or Watson play this week, even though both players appear to be on track. Watson is obviously responding well to his plan in place and Jones did get in a limited session after reports stating he went back into the Don Huston Center after initially warming up with the team, according to LaFleur.

Van Ness' injury is something to keep an eye out for, even though he was limited all week long. Alexander's injury is an even bigger development. He's going to be needed in a big way thanks to an impressive Saints receiving corps that features Chris Olave and Michael Thomas. And, to make the group even scarier – Rashid Shaheed has been one of the NFL's premier playmakers at receiver during these first two weeks.

We will update this story once the Packers' final injury report comes out at 4pm ET.

Update: The Saints were also handed a surprise of their own with a starting corner: Paulson Adebo is officially questionable due to a hamstring injury he suffered on Friday. The development makes Ugo Amadi's availability even more important, now, as the Saints are going to need depth at the position.
