The Philadelphia Eagles are set to sign former New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker to a one-year, $4.69 million fully guaranteed deal.

This comes just a day after it was reported that the Patriots plan to release Parker. He has been granted permission to speak with other teams.

And that he did.

Parker was traded to the Patriots in 2022 and signed a contract extension with the team in June 2023. However, his time in New England has come to an end.

The Patriots wide receiver room needed some serious upgrades. And it was clear last season that he did not provide a spark on offense.

In his first season with the Patriots, Parker had 31 receptions for 539 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. Last season, he had 33 receptions for 394 yards and no touchdowns.

Parker is entering his 10th season in the league, having been drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe further reports that the Patriots are on the hook for Parker's guaranteed money, while the Eagles are responsible for $1.2 million.

Let's see if Philadelphia is a better fit for him.
