The No. 5 ranked Indiana Hoosiers travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on the No. 2 ranked Buckeyes in the premier college football matchup for Week 13.

The undefeated Hoosiers are the Cinderella team of college football in 2024. They have started 10-0 for the first time in school history, and have a real chance to make the College Football Playoff. However, their matchup against Ohio State will be their first against a ranked team this season, and if it doesn't at least hang close, Indiana could take a significant tumble down the rankings.

The Buckeyes are rolling after a couple of easy matchups against Northwestern and Purdue. They survived a scare against Penn State a few weeks ago, and fell to No. 1 Oregon by a single point last month. Ohio State is heavily favored against Indiana, but can't take the Hoosiers lightly as an upset would derail its shot at playing in the Big 10 Championship game.

It's tough to make a case for the Hoosiers pulling the upset here. They've played a very easy schedule, and barely got by Michigan last week. Keeping Ohio State quarterback Will Howard under pressure and forcing him into mistakes will be Indiana's best shot.

However, Howard is playing very solid football and has some of the best skill position players in the nation to work with. Offensively for the Hoosiers, they are likely in for a long day against a Buckeye's defense that is perhaps the best in the nation. I'm picking Ohio State to win comfortably, so I'll avoid the moneyline.

Ohio State vs. Indiana Spread

Indiana may keep it close early on, but the Buckeyes should pull away in the second half. A potential valiant effort from the Hoosiers just can't make up the deficit of talent between them and Ohio State. I'm betting the Buckeyes to cover the spread.

I can't envision Indiana's offense scoring much against an elite Ohio State defense. If the Buckeyes stay around 29 points, which is what they've averaged over their last four games, its highly improbable that the Hoosiers score over 20. Bet the under.
