Oregon’s Dan Lanning has a chance to take another step toward handing Ohio State a big loss off of the gridiron this weekend

The Oregon Ducks had the No. 2 receiving class last year and it was a terrific year of recruiting for Dan Lanning. So far for the class of 2026, the Ducks have the No. 13 ranked class with work to do.
Oregon will have a number of key recruits in Eugene this weekend as they work on catching up to rival USC and Ohio State, who have the No. 1 and 2 ranked recruiting classes.
One player that the Ducks will have on campus this weekend happens to be right from Ohio State’s backyard.
Elbert Hill is set to visit the Oregon Ducks again this weekend
Hill took to X (Twitter) to announce he would be in Eugene again this weekend. It will be another unofficial visit for Hill to Oregon, though he does have an official visit set up with the Ducks for June 13. Hill will take additional visits to USC, LSU, and Alabama. Ohio State is in the mix for the Akron, Ohio product as well and no official visit is set up for the Buckeyes.
Hill is the No. 3 cornerback in the class of 2026 and the No. 36 overall recruit, according to 247 Sports Composite. Hill is the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio, so this would be a big get for the Ducks if they can get him to Oregon.
Oregon was able to get Trey McNutt out of Ohio last year as a four-star safety and that just goes to show Lanning can get players out of Ohio.
The Ducks don’t yet have a cornerback committed and Hill would be the headliner of that group potentially if they can land him. This weekend will be another big step in trying to make that happen. It means a bit more since Ohio State and USC are both interested in Hill.
