ESPN recently released its All-Quarter Century team for the 2000s. This combines the present with the past to give us the best players in the NFL over the past 25 years.
In total, two Colts made the cut, with Peyton Manning and one of his top targets from his time in Indianapolis being honored as two of the greatest players to play between 2000 and 2025.
Colts legends Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison named to ESPN's All Quarter Century
ESPN's All Quarter Century team included 53 players and four coaches. The Colts had two representatives on the list, the first being Peyton Manning, who got the second QB spot behind Tom Brady and in front of Patrick Mahomes. This doesn't come as too much of a surprise, Manning is included in just about every debate for the greatest QB of all time. He currently has the third most passing yards and touchdowns all time, and has two Super Bowl rings, one with the Colts, the other with the Denver Broncos.
The second Colts player to receiver this honor is the single best weapon from Manning's storied career, Marvin Harrison. Six WRs made the list with Harrison joining the likes of Randy Moss, Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, Terrell Owens, and Justin Jefferson. Harrison has the fifth most receiving yards all time and built one of the most dominant QB-WR combos the league has ever seen with Manning. Now they are properly honored together for being two of the best players so far this century.
There are multiple other Colts players that didn't make the cut that fans may feel also deserved to make ESPN's roster. On the offensive side of the ball, Colts left guard Quenton Nelson has been one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL since being drafted. On the defensive side of the ball, Dwight Freeney is the player that I think stands out the most being left off, especially with J.J. Watt being the only player listed under DL.
Colts breakout candidates who could help the team make the jump to the playoffs with a big 2025 season
2025 is going to be a make or break year for the Indianapolis Colts as we currently know them. A big year and multiple jobs are probably saved for next year, and so on, another year of falling short, and many probably won't be here come 2026. To take that leap into the playoffs, the […]
Colts rookie has that ‘it factor’ according to a veteran player and he could earn a starting job with a strong training camp
One of the Indianapolis Colts most shocking selections in the 2025 NFL Draft was using a third-round pick on CB Justin Walley out of Minnesota. Many around the league viewed this selection as a reach, given his projected draft range. However, the early return on investment suggests that he may be a steal for the Colts. […]
