Week 11 didn’t go to plan for the Arizona Cardinals, who couldn’t take down their NFC West rivals, the San Francisco 49ers. They are now 3-6 on the season and 0-3 in the NFC West. This comes after the NFL decided to fine one of the Cardinals’ top players, which adds up to a pretty bad week for him.

Budda Baker was fined by the NFL for an illegal hit last week

The NFL fined Cardinals star safety Budda Baker due to an illegal hit on a defenseless receiver in the team’s Week 10 blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Baker was flagged for hitting Seahawks star WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the head area, and the league felt more needed to be done. He was fined $17,389 for the hit, which only adds to the recent rough stretch for the Cardinals.

The team has now lost two straight games and seven of their last eight after starting 2-0. Injuries have certainly played a factor, but the team has also simply not been good enough too often. It feels early to say the season is over, but at 3-7 with the rest of their division ahead by a healthy margin, it feels like the reality for Arizona. And with multiple tough questions on their roster needing to be answered this offseason, it doesn’t seem like morale with this team is going to pick up anytime soon.
